Laura Huffman, President and CEO of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Joins WFX Governing Board

Water Finance Exchange (WFX) is excited to welcome Laura Huffman to its Governing Board. Laura is a well-respected and accomplished President & CEO with a passion for meaningful business results, excellence, and innovation, who has helped build and drive strong economies as well as substantial conservation and sustainability efforts, during her 25+ years of public service, including serving as the CEO of the Austin Chamber of Commerce (Austin ranks 2nd best performing city), as the Texas State Director of The Nature Conservancy, the largest conservation organization in the world and as a City Management Leader for two of the fastest-growing Texas cities in the country.

She is well known as a major advocate and key influencer in the business, political/government, and public leadershipcommunities. She has diverse and broad leadership experiences managing complex and multi-faceted organizations with vision, strategy, decisiveness, and integrity.

Laura’s distinguished public service record includes 15+ years in city management for the City of Austin and City of San Marcos, where she helped safeguard water supply, strengthen the economy and protect natural assets. She earned a master’s degree in public affairs from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in political science from Texas A&M University.

Laura brings a unique combination of conservation leadership and sophisticated economic development skills that will help WFX establish the strong connection between sustainable water infrastructure and regional economic health.
