U.S. EPA released its charge to the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) outlining the areas in which the agency will be seeking the Council’s advice and recommendations and describing the formation of a working group to assist the Council. The roster of working group members comprises seven from the NDWAC and five additional experts. The working group will provide its report to the NDWAC and the NDWAC will in turn provide advice on the issues to EPA. The agency will consider the NDWAC’s recommendations in developing a proposed rule for public comment.
The CCR working group held a kick-off meeting on August 6. Additional meetings will be posted as they are scheduled on EPA’s website at https://www.epa.gov/ndwac under NDWAC working groups. All meetings will be virtual and will be open to the public to listen as observers. The registration links for future meetings will be posted on the website as well.
