WFX Co-Founder Hank Habicht and WFX Senior Advisors speak at the hearing for the Texas House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources
On August 24th , 2022, Water Finance Exchange (WFX) Co-Founder Hank Habicht spoke at the hearing for the Texas House of Representatives Natural Resources Committee, which met to examine the condition of Texas’ water and flood mitigation infrastructure capabilities and consider infrastructure needs.
Speaking for WFX, Hank provided comments on the importance of the new funds available from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that serve as a catalytic opportunity for communities to advance sustainable water infrastructure solutions. Hank advocated for the importance of technical assistance providers throughout the state, which can effectively work with communities to develop comprehensive plans, as well as regional approaches. WFX strongly believes in the importance of local governance and the creation of models to further scale the lessons learned from technical assistance.
WFX Senior Advisor Carlos Rubinstein also spoke, as well as WFX partners at Texas 2036 and
Government Services Group, on water infrastructure, groundwater monitoring and conservation, technical assistance opportunities, and policy mechanisms to encourage regional approaches.
